Frederick William Aldridge was born in Fulham, London, in 1895, the son of James and Eliza Aldridge. In about 1912 Aldridge went to work for Parr's Bank at its London head office. He was also a member of the bank's staff sports club.

 

During the First World War Aldridge left his job in the bank's chief accountant's department to join the army. Lance Corporal Frederick William Aldridge of the London Regiment died of wounds received in action in France on 27 September 1917. He was 22 years old.

 

Frederick Aldridge is commemorated on a bank war memorial held at NatWest Group Archives.
