Leonard Wilfred Bubb was born on 14 March 1892. In March 1912, shortly before his 20th birthday, Bubb went to work for London County & Westminster Bank.

 

During the First World War Bubb left his job at the bank's London Lombard Street branch to join the army, serving as a Private in The Buffs (East Kent Regiment). He was killed in action on 16 May 1918. He was 26 years old.

 

Leonard Bubb is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest City of London office.
