Eustace Coulthard

Eustace Frank Coulthard was born on 24 September 1887, the son of William Fuller Coulthard and his wife Sarah Ann.

 

In January 1905, when he was 17 years old, Coulthard went to work for London & County Bank. In 1909 London & County Bank merged with London & Westminster Bank, and Coulthard became an employee of the enlarged London County & Westminster Bank.

 

During the First World War Coulthard left his job as a clerk at the bank's Tunbridge Wells branch to join the army. By 1916 he was a Second Lieutenant in the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. He was killed in action in Mesopotamia on 6 April 1916. He was 28 years old.
