Harry Turner Cooper was born on 25 June 1892, the son of Henry and Kate Cooper. In May 1908, when he was 15 years old, he went to work for Manchester & County Bank.

 

In September 1916 Cooper left his job at the bank's Manchester Withington branch to go on military service, initially in the Royal Field Artillery and later in the York and Lancaster Regiment. Private Harry Turner Cooper was killed in action on the Western Front on 5 June 1917. He was 24 years old.
