Reginald John Coleman was born on 29 January 1888. In June 1905, when he was 17 years old, Coleman went to work for London & County Bank. In 1909 London & County Bank merged with London & Westminster Bank, and Coleman became an employee of the enlarged London County & Westminster Bank.

 

In October 1914 Coleman left his job as a clerk at the bank's Winchester branch to join the army. By the time of his death in June 1917 he was serving as a Lance Corporal in the Machine Gun Corps.

 

Coleman was killed in action in France on 19 June 1917. He was 29 years old.
