Stanley Eaton Chamberlain was born in London in 1897, the son of William Thomas Chamberlain, a tailor's cutter, and his wife Mary Louisa. In about 1914 he started working for Parr's Bank.

 

During the First World War Chamberlain left his job at the bank's Bournemouth branch to join the army. Private Chamberlain of the Royal Fusiliers was killed in action in Belgium on 23 October 1917. He was 20 years old.
