Frank Dearden was born in Harpurhey, Manchester, on 15 October 1895, the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Dearden. In March 1912 he went to work for Manchester & County Bank.

In September 1914 Dearden left his job at the bank's Manchester Corn Exchange branch to go on military service as a Private in the Manchester Regiment. He died of dysentery in Gallipoli on 29 September 1915. He was 19 years old.
