Percy Thomas Darlington was born in Ardwick, Lancashire in 1876, the son of John Darlington, a civil and mechanical engineer, and his wife Mary Elizabeth. He grew up in Ealing, London. In September 1916 Darlington left his job in the Country Office of Glyn, Mills, Currie & Co in Lombard Street, London, to go on military service.

 

Private Percy Thomas Darlington of the Durham Light Infantry was killed in action in France on 30 August 1918.
