Francis Frost

Francis Conrade Shenstone Frost was born on 10 November 1884, the son of Francis Frost, a farmer, and his wife Agnes. In February 1902, when he was 17 years old, he went to work for London & County Bank. In 1909 London & County Bank merged with London & Westminster Bank and Frost became an employee of the enlarged London County & Westminster Bank.

 

In May 1916 Frost left his job as a clerk at the bank's Colchester branch to join the army. By 1918 he was a Second Lieutenant in The Buffs (East Kent Regiment). He was killed in action on 21 March 1918. He was 33 years old and left a widow, Helen, whom he had married in April 1911.
