Frank Fielder

Frank Fielder was born on 24 March 1886, the son of John and Lavinia Fielder. In February 1905, when he was 18 years old, Fielder went to work for London & County Bank. In 1909 London & County Bank merged with London & Westminster Bank and Fielder became an employee of the enlarged London County & Westminster Bank.

 

Frank Fielder was a territorial soldier, serving in the Hampshire Regiment. He was mobilised at the outbreak of war in 1914, leaving his job at the bank's Slough branch to go on active service. Company Serjeant Major Frank Fielder was killed in action at Suvla Bay, Gallipoli on 12 August 1915. He was 29 years old.
