Frank Green

Frank Green was born on 29 September 1895, the son of Albert Nathan Green, a banker, and his wife Edith. He was educated at Wakefield Grammar School.

 

In November 1913, when Green was 18 years old, he followed his father into banking, albeit in a different bank. He went to work for National Provincial Bank of England, starting as apprentice at its Bradford branch.

 

In May 1915 Green left the bank to go on military service. By the following year he was a Second Lieutenant in the King's Own (Yorkshire Light Infantry). He was killed in action in France on 3 November 1916. He was 21 years old.
