Wilfred Green

Wilfred Green was born in Fenton, Staffordshire, in 1896, the son of Spencer Green, a china manufacturer, and his wife Mary Helen. From about 1903 he worked for Parr's Bank.

 

During the First World War Green left his job at the bank's Belper branch to join the army, becoming a Private in the Derbyshire Yeomanry. He died of dysentery at Salonika on 12 November 1916. He was 30 years old.
