Albert Ewart Hall was born on 12 February 1899, the only son of Albert and Edith Mary Hall. In August 1914, when he was 15 years old, he went to work for Manchester & County Bank.
In March 1917, shortly after his 18th birthday, Hall left his job at the bank's Chadderton branch to join the army. Private Albert Ewart Hall of the King's Shropshire Light Infantry was killed in France on 12 September 1918. He was 19 years old.
