Alfred Hall was born in Hornsey in 1880, the son of Alfred Hall, a merchant, and his wife Sarah Jane. He worked for National Provincial Bank of England at its London office, and was a member of the bank's staff sports club.

 

During the First World War Hall joined the army, serving as a Rifleman in the Royal Irish Rifles. He died in Palestine on 22 March 1918. He was 37 years old.

 

Alfred Hall is commemorated on a bank war memorial held at NatWest Group Archives.
