Jack Hunter was born on 7 May 1888. He worked for Union of London & Smiths Bank at its Basford branch.

 

Early in the First World War Hunter joined the army and by 1918 he was a Lieutenant in the South Nottinghamshire Hussars. He was drowned at sea on 27 May 1918. He was 40 years old.

 

Jack Hunter is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest City of London office.
