John Morris Jones

John Morris Jones was born on 11 April 1894, the son of Morris and Jane Jones. In about 1911 he went to work for National Provincial Bank of England as apprentice at its Dolgelly branch. He later transferred to Hay branch.

 

During the First World War Jones joined the army, becoming a Private in the 26th (Bankers') Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers. He was killed in action on 24 July 1916. He was 22 years old.
