Thomas Keen

Thomas Sidney Keen was born on 3 December 1893, the son of John Sidney Keen and his wife Alice Corsau Keen. On his 17th birthday in 1910 Keen went to work for London County & Westminster Bank.

 

Outside work Keen was a territorial soldier, a member of the Royal East Kent Yeomanry. He was mobilised at the outbreak of war in 1914, leaving his job at the bank's Brighton branch to go on active service. In 1917 his battalion was absorbed into The Buffs (East Kent Regiment). Corporal Keen died in France on 9 August 1918. He was 24 years old.
