Leslie Charles Lloyd was born in Hornsey on 2 August 1897, the son of Daniel Charles Lloyd and his wife Amy Florence Jane. In November 1913, when he was 16 years old, he went to work for London County & Westminster Bank.

 

At the outbreak of the First World War Lloyd left his job as a clerk at the bank's London Lombard Street branch to go on military service. By 1918 he was a Sapper in the Royal Engineers. He died in England on 31 October 1918. He was 21 years old.

 

Leslie Lloyd is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest City of London office.
