Eustace Mordaunt Musgrave was born in Leeds on 10 October 1897, the son of Frederick Bernard Musgrave, a surgeon, and his wife Sarah Elizabeth. In June 1914 he went to work for Manchester & Liverpool District Banking Co.

 

In November 1915 Musgrave left his job at the bank's Liverpool branch to join the army, becoming a Driver in the Royal Field Artillery. He died on 5 October 1917 of wounds received in action on the Western Front, a few days before his 20th birthday.
