George Brownlee Mungall was born in Glasgow in 1886, the son of John and Mary Mungall. He worked for the Royal Bank of Scotland at its Glasgow Cowcaddens branch.
During the First World War Mungall left the bank to join the army, becoming a Private in the Tank Corps. He died in Belgium on 19 August 1917. He was 31 years old.
George Mungall is commemorated on a bank war memorial at 36 St Andrew Square, Edinburgh.
