Walter Lenox Moojen was born on 12 February 1895, the son of Walter Moojen, a bank clerk, and his wife Alice. He was educated at Whitgift Grammar School, Croydon. After leaving school he worked for a time for his father's bank, London County & Westminster Bank, but in October 1914 he moved to the private banking house of Drummonds in London's Charing Cross.

 

During the First World War Moojen left Drummonds to join the army, becoming a Private in the Royal Fusiliers. He died in France on 17 February 1917. He was 22 years old.
