Gerald Enrico Pearse was born on 3 May 1889, the son of Albert and Jane Pearse. He worked for Union of London & Smiths Bank as a junior clerk at its London Princes Street office. He was also a member of the bank's staff sports club.

 

Early in the First World War Pearse joined the army, serving as a Private in the Honourable Artillery Company. He died on the Western Front on 16 June 1915. He was 26 years old.

 

Gerald Pearse is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest City of London office, and on another held at NatWest Group Archives
