In 1909 London & County Bank merged with London & Westminster Bank, and Palmer became an employee of the enlarged London County & Westminster Bank.

Harry Palmer is commemorated on Portsmouth Naval Memorial along with his London County & Westminster Bank colleague, Edgar Price. Although they didn’t work at the same branch before the war, it must have been a reminder of home to work with a colleague from the bank on HMS Black Prince. Rest in peace.
