Anarawd Rhydwen was born in Blaenau Ffestiniog on 16 February 1891, the son of J Rhydwen Parry and his wife Annie. From about 1909 he worked for National Provincial Bank of England, spending time at its branches in Towyn and Wrexham.

 

During the First World War Rhydwen left the bank to join the army, becoming a Private in the Welsh Guards. He was killed in France on 3 May 1918. He was 27 years old.
