Harold Radcliffe was born on 27 November 1892, the son of William and Caroline Radcliffe. In October 1909 he went to work for Manchester & County Bank, initially at its Blackburn branch and later at head office in Manchester.

 

In September 1914 Radcliffe left the bank to join the army, becoming a Rifleman in the Rifle Brigade. He was killed in action in France on 13 June 1917. He was 24 years old.
