Thomas Gordon Seccombe was born on 13 May 1896, the son of Tom Seccombe and his wife Minnie. He was educated at Highfield School, Muswell Hill.

 

In March 1913 he began working Union of London & Smiths Bank at its Smiths office in Lombard Street in London. He served as a soldier during the First World War, leaving his job at the bank to join the army. Seccombe died on the Somme on 10 September 1916 when serving as a Rifleman in the London Regiment. He was 20 years old.

 

Thomas Seccombe is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest City of London office and on another held at NatWest Group Archives.
