William Francis Sanders was born on 25 June 1892. In February 1913, when he was 19 years old, he went to work for London County & Westminster Bank.

 

In March 1916 Sanders left his job as a clerk at the bank's Foreign branch in London, to go on military service, becoming a Rifleman in the London Regiment. He died on the Western Front on 19 August 1917. He was 25 years old.

 

William Sanders is commemorated on a bank war memorial held at NatWest Group Archives.
