Norman Pine Vincent was born in Guildford, Surrey, in 1896, the son of Nathan Vincent, an ironmonger, and his wife Sarah Ann. He was educated in Guildford, and in November 1914 went to work for London County & Westminster Bank.

 

In January 1916 Vincent left his job as a clerk at the bank's Aldershot branch to join the army, becoming a Private in the Honourable Artillery Company. He was killed in action in France on 15 March 1917. He was 20 years old.

 

Norman Vincent is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest Aldershot branch.
