Frank Walter Warmsley was born in Derbyshire in 1898, the son of Walter Leonard Warmsley and his wife Agnes Ann. He worked for Sheffield Banking Co.
During the First World War Warmsley left his job as a clerk at the bank's Sheffield branch to join the army. By 1917 he was a Second Lieutenant in the Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment). He died in France on 22 November 1917. He was 19 years old.
