Frederick Wells

Frederick Bennett Wells was born on 19 January 1893, the son of George Frederick Wells and his wife Emma. In February 1912, when he was 19 years old, Wells went to work for London County & Westminster Bank.

 

During the First World War Wells left his post at the bank's London Lombard Street branch to join the army. By 1918 he was a Second Lieutenant in the Royal Fusiliers. He died in France on 10 October 1918. He was 25 years old.

 

Frederick Wells is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest City of London office.
