Frederick Williams

Frederick Williams was born on 8 February 1900, the son of Frederick Williams, a relieving officer and registrar of births, marriages and deaths, and his wife Kate. He was educated at Arvon House private school, Colwyn Bay, and at Abergele County School. In August 1916, when he was 16 years old, he went to work for National Provincial Bank of England as an apprentice at its Oswestry branch.

 

Williams later left the bank to join the army, serving as a Private in the Welsh Guards. He died of pneumonia at Caterham on 19 July 1918. He was 18 years old.
