Percy Ernest Charles Wilsdon was born in Clerkenwell, London, in 1897, the son of Ernest Adolphus Wilsdon, a traveller and clerk for a watch case maker, and his wife Lydia. In June 1914 he went to work for Parr's Bank.

 

In April 1916 Wilsdon left his job at the bank's London Bartholomew Lane office to join the army, and by 1918 he was a Lance Corporal in the London Regiment. He was killed in France on 22 August 1918. He was 21 years old.

 

Percy Wilsdon is commemorated on a bank war memorial held at NatWest Group Archives.
