John James Yeo was born on 6 February 1893, the son of James and Jessie Yeo. On his 18th birthday in 1911 he went to work for London County & Westminster Bank.

 

During the First World War Yeo left his job as a clerk at the bank's Foreign branch, London, to join the army, serving as a Private in the Royal Fusiliers. He was killed in action in France on 3 May 1916. He was 23 years old.

 

John Yeo is commemorated on a bank war memorial held at NatWest Group Archives.
