Stuart Coulthard Yeomans was born on 6 May 1885, the son of Montague Yeomans, a customs surveyor, and his wife Phoebe. In March 1906 he went to work for Coutts & Co.

 

Outside work Yeomans was a territorial soldier, a member of the London Regiment. He was mobilised at the outbreak of war in August 1914, leaving his job as a ledger poster at the bank to go on active service. Rifleman Yeomans was killed in action on 1 July 1916, the first day of the Battle of the Somme. He was 31 years old. 

 

Stuart Yeomans is commemorated on a bank war memorial at Coutts & Co, London 440 Strand.
