Graham Charles Beeching Crawshaw was born on 7 May 1913, the son of Charles and Mary Crawshaw. He was educated at Victoria Park School, Manchester and Manchester Grammar School. He joined the staff of National Provincial Bank as a probationer at London Finsbury Circus branch in February 1931. He was promoted to junior clerk in May 1931 and to clerk in July 1934. He moved to London City Office in March 1934. 

 

Crawshaw was a Territorial soldier, and was mobilised for war service in the Royal Army Service Corps in September 1939. He was posted to France, attached as a Driver to the Royal Army Medical Corps. Driver Crawshaw was killed on 23 May 1940. He was 27 years old.
