Kenneth Crossley was born on 4 July 1918, the son of Frank and Emma Crossley. He was educated at Bradford Grammar School. He joined the staff of National Provincial Bank as a probationer at Batley branch in January 1935 and was promoted to junior clerk in April 1935. He moved to Bradford Commercial Bank branch in April 1936 and was promoted to clerk in April 1937.

 

Crossley left the bank to go on military service in the East Yorkshire Regiment in July 1939. He served throughout the Second World War, rising to the rank of Major by 1945. He was killed in action in Burma on 5 April 1945. He was 26 years old.
