Robert Creighton was born on 9 December 1916, the son of Martha and Thomas Creighton. In February 1939 he joined the staff of National Bank of Scotland, working at its Glasgow Gallowgate branch.

 

During the Second World War Creighton left the bank to go on war service, becoming a Sergeant in the Royal Army Medical Corps. He was killed in action in Europe on 27 January 1945. He was 28 years old.
