Albert Dingle

Albert Dingle was born on 23 January 1912, the son of Guthrie and May Dingle. He was educated at St John's College in Finsbury Park before joining the staff of National Provincial Bank as a probationer at its London Princes Street office in November 1929. He was promoted to junior clerk in February 1930. In July 1931 he moved to Lincoln’s Inn branch, and was promoted to clerk in April 1932. He then moved to Holloway branch in 1934. 

 

In August 1940 Dingle left the bank to go on military service, joining the Royal Army Pay Corps. On 4 April 1944 Private Dingle was killed during an air raid in Southgate, London. He was 28 years old and left a widow, Mabel.
