Anthony Stewart Douglas was born in Ayrshire in 1919, the son of William and Margaret Morton Douglas. He worked for Commercial Bank of Scotland. 

 

During the Second World War Douglas left his job at the bank's Kilwinning branch to go on military service, becoming a Sergeant in the Royal Air Force. He died on 10 July 1942. He was 23 years old.

 

Anthony Douglas is commemorated on a bank war memorial at Gogarburn campus, Edinburgh
