George Dunseath

George Edward Dunseath was born on 6 November 1917, the son of William Thomas and Margaret Jane Dunseath. He joined the staff of Westminster Bank in August 1936, and from January 1939 was based at the bank's London Stamford Hill branch. 

 

At the outbreak of war in September 1939 Dunseath left the bank to go on war service, and by 1944 he was a Lieutenant in the Royal Irish Fusiliers. He was killed in action in Italy on 21 June 1944. He was 26 years old. 

 

George Dunseath is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest London Stoke Newington High St branch.
