Alan Fisher was born on 24 May 1922, the son of John and Olive Fisher. In January 1940 he joined the temporary wartime staff of Westminster Bank, working at its Monton Green branch. 

 

He later left the bank to go on military service, becoming a Sergeant (Pilot) in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He was killed on 15 August 1942 when the Spitfire he was flying crashed in bad weather on a farm in Wales. He was 20 years old. 

 

Alan Fisher is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest Monton branch.
