Frank Higham was born on 5 March 1925, the son of Alfred and Margaret Ann Higham. He joined the temporary wartime staff of Westminster Bank at its Patricroft branch in May 1941, when he was 16 years old.

 

He later left the bank to go on war service, becoming a Midshipman in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. He was accidentally drowned in the Thames on 31 May 1944. He was 19 years old.
