Kenneth John Holton was born on 12 February 1922 and joined the staff of Westminster Bank at its Cambridge branch in July 1939.

 

In July 1941 he left the bank to join the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He trained as an air bomber in the UK, Canada and South Africa, and was then posted to the Middle East and finally to Italy. 

 

Sergeant Holton died in a plane crash in Italy on 15 May 1944. He was 22 years old.

 

Kenneth Holton is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest Cambridge Market Street branch.
