Peter Keech

Peter Anthony Keech was born in Lancashire in 1918, the son of William Neale Keech and his wife Gertrude Violet. In 1936 he went to work for the Royal Bank of Scotland at its London Western branch. 

 

In August 1939 Keech left the bank to go on military service, and by 1942 he was a Lieutenant in the Royal Horse Artillery. He was killed in action at El Alamein on 19 July 1942. He was 24 years old.

 

Peter Keech is commemorated on a bank war memorial at 36 St Andrew Square, Edinburgh.
