Albert Edward Linton was born in Westminster, London on 16 May 1906, the son of Elizabeth and Albert Edward Linton. He worked for Coutts & Co, London.

 

In December 1940 Linton left the bank to go on military service. He volunteered for the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve and served at various stations in England. He was promoted to Leading Aircraftman in July 1941 and was posted for duty in the Far East in April 1942. Leading Aircraftman Linton was killed in an accident in India on 3 April 1943. He was 36 years old and left a widow, Florence Gladys, whom he had married in 1934.

 

Albert Linton is commemorated on a bank memorial at Coutts & Co, London 440 Strand.
