Guy Wallwyn Pearson Littlewood was born on 28 October 1903, the son of William Pearson Littlewood and his wife Alice. In about 1921 he went to work for London County Westminster & Parr's Bank (known from 1923 as Westminster Bank), serving initially at Andover branch and later at Winchester, Basingstoke, Boscombe and Newbury branches. Early in 1938 he transferred to Wallingford branch. Outside work he was a successful amateur golfer. 

 

In 1942 Littlewood left Wallingford branch to go on military service, becoming a Sergeant in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps. While serving, in June 1944, he was taken ill with appendicitis. He appeared to be recovering after his operation, but then suddenly collapsed and died on 15 June 1944. He was 40 years old and left a widow, Trudie, and a five-year-old son.
