Angus Mackintosh was born on 27 June 1918, the son of John and Christina Mackintosh. In January 1935, when he was 16 years old, he went to work for the Royal Bank of Scotland as an apprentice at its Govan branch. 

 

In September 1939 Mackintosh left the bank to go on military service, becoming a Lance Bombardier in the Royal Horse Artillery. He was killed in action in Greece on about 27 April 1941. He was 22 years old.
