Clive William Marcus Nash was born on 6 November 1907, the son of Robert and Catherine Rebecca Nash. He joined the staff of Westminster Bank in May 1925. He served at several branches in East Anglia before being posted to Ware branch in 1938. He was also a member of the bank's staff sports club.

 

Outside work Nash was a territorial soldier. He was called to active service at the outbreak of war in 1939, leaving the bank to serve with the Northamptonshire Regiment. Early in 1940 he was promoted to the rank of Captain. 

 

Captain Nash died of peritonitis on 9 May 1940. He was 32 years old.
