John Ewart Price was born on 16 October 1909. He joined the staff of Westminster Bank in October 1926, and from 1938 worked at the bank's London Baker Street branch. 

 

In August 1941 he left the bank to join the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, qualifying as a Sergeant Observer. He was assigned to a night fighter squadron, and was killed in a flying accident on 10 February 1943. He had been due to be interviewed for a commission the following day. He was 33 years old and left a widow, Margaret, who was an officer in the WAAF and whom he had married in 1935.

 

John Price is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest London Baker Street branch.
