Peter Laurence Reynolds was born on 16 September 1921, the son of Laurence and Irene Reynolds. In October 1938 he went to work for The National Bank as a probationer in its chief accountant's department, based in the bank's London head office on Old Broad Street.

 

In June 1940 Reynolds left the bank to go on war service, joining the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Sergeant Reynolds was killed in action on 12 February 1942. He was 20 years old.

 

Peter Reynolds is commemorated on a bank war memorial at 250 Bishopsgate, London.
